The standard edition and the Special Edition are recognisably similar to each other, but the Special Edition is more rounded, with the spice more evident and the vinegar sharpness of the standard edition muted in the Special Edition.
Lee and Perrins has a long tradition (over 170 years) and their name is synonymous with Worcestershire Sauce. They may need to come up with a new brand for the Special Edition … in our own taste tests, we preferred the extra matured edition considerably, but we could still see occasions when you might just prefer the extra tang from the original version over the stronger spice of the Special Edition.
